Combined, our family has most of these conditions and we’ve put in extra time to understand each other! ODD (oppositional defiant disorder), ADD/ADHD, auditory processing difficulty, specific learning difficulties, anxiety and depression were diagnosed by a psychologist, psychiatrist or learning specialist. Autism spectrum disorder and sensory integration problems were self-diagnosed through introspection and reading. Working on behavior issues with each other over time has resulted in trust, kids now giving me constructive feedback too. We’ve struggled but we realize we’ve done good work caring about each other. Always work in progress. One son laughs every chance he gets and keeps it light.
