My 11 year old daughter was just diagnosed with ADHD. She has been put on 20 mg of Vyvanse. Has anyone had any experience with this medication?
My 11 yr old has been on Vyvanse for 3 yrs. we have had good luck with it. We added an afternoon dose of intuniv about a year ago to help with the emotional “bump” he hits as he is coming off the Vyvanse. As a parent, I would just say watch how it affects her. the 1st med/1st dosage is rarely dead on. You know her best. Don’t be affraid to tell the doctor you want a different med/ dosage if it doesn’t work. Welcome to the marathon!
My 8 year old daughter was on valance for over a year, we had to keep increasing the mg but it worked well, and then we switched to met date cd. Both worked about the same for her but they just tend to not be so effective over time. Her adhd is due to an acquired brain injury though and not inherited.
